Events

Main Race

  • The qualification consists heats and it runs from the morning till the evening on Sunday. The race course is about 2 square kilometers big in a non-traffic area.
  • The most part of the course is on a one-way route, some are not. It means, a few checkpoints will be used for both direction. Going the wrong direction means disqualification.
  • Every competitor will be informed on Saturday afternoon at the Velodrome on what time she/he is starting and in witch heat. If you miss your heat you out of the race.
  • Each heat counts maximum 50 competitors, Le Mans style start, where your bike is laid down on the street and you must run (about 30 meters) to your bike. Your bike must be locked during the start.
  • Your job is to collect stamps, deliver and drop-off things during the race between the checkpoints. Sometimes is has to be done in a special order, sometimes its not.
  • If a rider loses a package or the task list, he/she will be allowed to walk back and recover it, meanwhile his/her bike must be left off the track in a safe place and be locked up.
  • In case your packages are damaged you have to face penalty
  • All racers have to complete 3 different manifests, fast as possible.
  • All Riders have one chance only.
  • The manifest, may not get wet, damaged or be lost.
  • You must lock your bike at certain checkpoints (marked with a lock) . If you don't do it, your bike will be stolen!
  • The first 20% of every qualification heat are through to the final.
  • Female messengers shall race in a separate heat from the male messengers.
  • In the final there will be the same rules, and only one heat. Min. 3 hours of madness!
  • Female messengers are to race together with the male messengers in the Finals.
  • The cargo competition will held during the main race final.

Sprint

  • The qualification will take place in the Velodrome on Saturday.
  • The qualification will be 200 meters long, the Final will be 150 meters.
  • You may start any time during the day.
  • You’ll be alone and fight against the time.
  • If you are not satisfied with your time, can take another chance or more.
  • The competitors must wear their messenger bags.
  • The best 24 racers will ride in the Final, against each other in gangs of four, the first two are going to qualify and so on.

Goldsprint

  • Qualification all day long on Sunday at the Party Building, against the clock.
  • Again with messenger bag.
  • The best 16 male and 4 female goes to fight a dual in the Finals.
  • The Finals before the concerts are on Sunday evening.

Bike Polo

  • The game takes place in one day, on two courts. Starting on May 22, 2010, Saturday at 10 am in two parts. 24 teams play in 4 round-robin style groups of 6 teams each, like A, B, C and D groups.
  • Every round-robin games will be timed at 8 minutes.
  • The winning team gets 3 points, the losing team gets 0 points. Event of a tie, both teams gets 1-1 points.
  • The last two teams are eliminated of each group.
  • The remaining 16 teams play in single elimination.
  • All games will be timed at 8 minutes. Two semifinals, and the little final for the third place will be 15 minutes and the final game will be 20 minutes long.

Trackstand

  • The qualification will be in the Velodrome on Saturday, the final will be held in Csepel Factory at Sunday.
  • There are a couple qualification heats with 50 people, the first 10 qualify in the final.
  • With your basic equipment is bag and lock.
  • Starting with both hands for the first 2 minutes, after 2 minutes one hand with your preferable hand and than 2 minutes with the other hand. After this, no hands for 3 minutes, then one foot on the pedal, later no foot, and if you still on your seat try to be a champ!

Backward circle

  • The qualification will be in the Velodrome on Saturday, the Final in Csepel Factory on Sunday.
  • You can start the qualification at any time, everybody has 3 attempts.
  • The best five competitors are through to the final.
  • In the final there are 5 racers starting one time, who makes the most circles shall win.

Skid

  • The qualification will be in the Csepel Factory on Sunday.
  • The skid track will be approximately 200 meters long.
  • Each competitors have 3 attempts.
  • The best 12 qualify to the final, 3 attempts, the longest skid wins.

Foot down

  • The foot down will be in the Velodrome on Saturday afternoon.
  • Qualification starts in heat with 30 people.
  • The last 5 who stays on the seat will go to the final.

Bunny Hop

  • Bunny hop competition will be at Csepel Factory on Sunday afternoon.
  • Starts from 30 cm high, step up by 10 cm till 50 cm, 5 cm after.
  • Who jumps the tallest will win.

Cargo and Rickshaw Race

  • The cargo and the rickshaw race will be held in Csepel Factory during the main race final, on the same course.

Mustache competition

  • Fotoshooting will be held in the Velodrom at Saturday.
  • Every ECMC 2010 participant can vote for the best moustache with her/his ballot, find in the registration pack.
  • The polling both will be at the Art show till on Monday 16:00.
  • Trafficking in votes is not allowed.

Funny races

  • Funny races will be held in the Csepel Factory on Sunday and Monday under the water tower.
  • Various events and huge prizes:
    • Fan race (test your eyeball's strength)
    • Shop till you drop (end of the day fun)
    • The real footdown (who remembers track standing?)
    • Free locking (get loose baby)
    • Sör-kör (drink a beer as fast as you can)
    • Texas twins
    • Forward circles
    • Pain race (do the course on this bike!)
  • You can start any race at any time, come as you please.
